The New Balance 420 was originally designed in the 1980's as a training shoe with the intention of protecting the runner by dispersing shock due to its 3 layer sole and lightweight construction of suede and nylon. Rated by Runner's World as the 'Best Running Shoe' of 1982, the shoe is arguably one of the best retro runners around, and is back for 2015. This 'Perf' edition is constructed from premium black suede, perforated at the toe, side walls and ankle for comfort and breathability. A contrasting grey heel counter sits to the rear of the shoe, adjacent to the matching midsole accents and heel counter. The shoe's finished with tonal 'N' branding to the medial and lateral side walls, and a woven '420' brand tab to the tongue.
